Location and getting there
Garza Blanca Preserve sits inside a coastal jungle preserve in the Sierra Madre, on Banderas Bay. From the airport it is about 6.5 miles (close to 40 minutes), and downtown Puerto Vallarta is about 15 minutes away by car.
Federal Highway 200 splits the property in two, so getting between zones is not a walk: a six-stop tram connects Sanctuary, the original resort, Hotel Mousai and TierraLuna Gardens, with average waits of 5 to 10 minutes. The terrain is steep, so ask at booking for the zone closest to what you will use most. The airport transfer is not included, so book it ahead.

The beach is a private white-sand cove with rocky patches and a direct view of Los Arcos, a protected marine area and one of the best snorkeling spots in the bay. It is better for swimming and snorkeling than for lying on a long open stretch of sand.
For the rest of the day there are pools: the original resort has an infinity pool facing the beach and another on the hillside, and the Sanctuary tower adds six pools and four temperature-controlled jacuzzis. Kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling are included.
When to go: When to go: weather and best season
November to May is the dry season and the most popular, with sunny days and more comfortable heat. From June to October the rains arrive, with humidity and afternoon storms, and September and October are usually the wettest months. Between December and March, humpback whales enter Banderas Bay, and since the resort sits on a cliff open to the sea, they can be seen from several balconies and tables.

The difference from the original resort is not only the room: staying in Sanctuary includes butler service, priority restaurant reservations, premium wifi and the all-inclusive running from the moment you arrive, not from 3:00 p.m. as in the rest of the property.
Sanctuary is already hosting guests, and there are reviews of stays in the tower. A second tower is scheduled for the end of 2026.

Hotel Mousai, the sister resort with included access
