How we work
Before we film, we research the property's real location within the destination, its current ratings on Google and Booking.com, and what's changed this year — reopenings, renovations, new restaurants, or repeated complaints from recent guests. We don't stay at the resorts we review, and we don't accept complimentary stays in exchange for positive coverage: our job is to hold what a resort promises against what hundreds of recent guests report. If there's a real problem, we say so, even if it costs us a partnership. Rankings aren't ordered by affiliate commission — we use our own criteria combining beach location, guest-reported service quality, value for the experience, and how up to date the property actually is. Every video has its own English version filmed separately (not an automatic translation), because what matters to that audience isn't always what matters to our Spanish-speaking viewers. Looking for a specific resort or a destination we haven't covered yet? Check the full written reviews on this site.

We compared 40+ all-inclusive resorts across the Hotel Zone and Puerto Juárez to narrow it down to the 12 that are actually worth the price in 2026 — not the ones with the biggest ad budgets. Picks included for families, couples, and travelers chasing a private beach.

Playa del Carmen mixes boutique beachfront hotels with large all-inclusive chains, and choosing between the two isn't simple. We ranked the top 12 based on real distance from Fifth Avenue, service quality, and how up to date each property actually is.

With 30+ all-inclusive resorts across Bávaro and Uvero Alto, Punta Cana is one of the most saturated destinations out there — and one of the most contradictory when it comes to reviews. We narrowed the list to the 12 that hold their Google and Booking.com ratings month after month, not just in their first year.

Top 12
Cancun

New openings
Cancun
Cancun opened eight brand-new all-inclusive resorts over the past two years. We compared them one by one to see which ones already deliver on their opening-day photos, and which still have the growing pains typical of a property that just opened its doors.
Review
Cancun
Hyatt Zilara Cancún closed for a full year to renovate. We dug into what actually changed — from the rooms to the service, according to the first guests after the reopening — and whether it justifies the price it's now asking compared to its Hotel Zone neighbors.

Top 6
Samaná
Samaná still has far fewer all-inclusive resorts than Punta Cana or Cancun, which makes picking the right one more important. These are the 6 resorts that justify the longer drive from the airport in exchange for beaches that are still nearly empty.
