Go Hotel Guide

About Us

An independent editorial guide to luxury resorts across Mexico, the Caribbean and beyond. Behind every page sit 476 videos we produced ourselves and an analysis method we state openly. No sponsorships, no paid placements.

What we do

Go Hotel Guide was created with one purpose: to help you make better decisions before you book. Not after. We analyze every detail that matters — rooms, service, food, beach, pools, location, and whether the price genuinely reflects the experience.

We currently cover thirteen destinations, and we only name the ones with a ranking or review of our own behind them. In Mexico: Cancún, Costa Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos. In the Dominican Republic: Punta Cana, Cap Cana and Miches. Beyond that, Aruba, Curaçao, Cartagena and Antalya. Our focus is on luxury all-inclusive resorts, boutique properties and five-star stays where every dollar should count.

Who writes this site

Go Hotel Guide is written by Cristian Coronel. Since 2021 I have researched, written and produced all-inclusive resort reviews and rankings: 313 videos on the Spanish channel and 163 on the English one, each scripted individually — the English version is not a machine translation of the Spanish, it is written separately because that audience asks different questions. This site is the written, more detailed version of that same work, and every review here grows out of the research script behind one of those videos.

I want to be upfront about the method, because it should change how you read what I write: I don't stay at the resorts I review. What I do is pull together what a traveler doesn't have time to assemble — hundreds of recent guest reviews, Google and Booking.com ratings, property fact sheets, resort maps and the materials each property publishes. Then I hold what the resort promises against what guests say they actually got. That gap is the useful part.

I have never accepted a free stay in exchange for a positive review, and I don't intend to. That's the reason I can say a resort has a problem when it has one. If something I've published looks wrong or has gone out of date, reach out through the contact page — I'll check it and fix it.

How a review or ranking gets built

This is the full process, in the order it happens. We publish it because you should be able to judge where every claim you read here comes from.

  1. We pick the resort by measuring real demand, not by hunch: what people actually search for on YouTube and Google for that destination, and which properties still have no serious review behind them.
  2. We verify the hard facts against the property's own record: official name, opening or reopening date, room count, room tiers, named restaurants, and exactly what the all-inclusive plan covers.
  3. We read recent guest reviews — weighted toward the last few months, because a three-year-old review describes a resort that no longer exists — and note what repeats, especially complaints that surface again and again.
  4. We hold what the resort promises in its own materials against what those guests report. The gap between the two is the core of our review, and it is information neither source gives you on its own.
  5. We score using our own criteria, applied consistently across properties: location and beach quality, reported service, dining, the real state of the facilities, and the price-to-experience ratio. A resort's position in a ranking never depends on affiliate commission.
  6. Before publishing, every claim goes through a blind check: a second pass that sees only the bare facts, without the surrounding text, and tries to contradict them. Anything that does not survive that pass does not get published.
  7. When a resort changes — a renovation, a rebrand, a restaurant closing — we correct the page. If you spot something out of date, write to us and we will check it.
What this method is not: it is not a stay of our own, and we do not present it as one. It is analysis and verification. If you want the account of someone who slept in that room, this is not the site — and we would rather tell you before you read the review.
