An adults-only pool and sky bar sit on the sixth floor, with four more pools and a kids' water zone below. Dining runs across five restaurants, from Asian to Mexican to a classic steakhouse. Here's the part most videos skip: Playa Delfines faces due east into open ocean, which gives it the highest sargassum exposure in the entire Hotel Zone. Crews clear the sand before 8am daily, and it's essentially clean December through March — but book it in July and you're rolling the dice.

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun
Opened November 1, 2025 in Petempich Bay, about seven miles from Puerto Morelos, bringing the chain to twelve properties in Mexico. Here's what the marketing skips: this isn't new construction — it's an existing property Iberostar took over, gutted and relaunched. The bones are older, even if the finishes, the menus and the staff are only months old. There are 444 suites, every one with a jacuzzi, some opening onto semi-private pools and others facing the ocean straight on. Four specialty restaurants cover Italian, Mexican, Caribbean seafood and Spanish cuisine. Guest scores hold at 8.2 out of 10, with cleanliness and the grounds drawing the most praise.

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres
Launched December 2025 and within weeks was already sitting near 9 out of 10 across the booking platforms, a start almost no new resort pulls off. It's adults-only, holds 599 suites, and plenty of them let you step off the terrace straight into the water. What sets it apart in Costa Mujeres is the water side of things: a wave pool and a lazy river, which you almost never see at an adults-only property. Eight restaurants in total, five of them specialty, running from Japanese teppanyaki to French fine dining, all sitting on a private stretch of white sand. The catch is the one every new opening carries: some guests arrived before construction wrapped and reported long waits and thin nightly entertainment.

Opened July 2025 between the Pacific and the Sierra Madre, and in barely a year it passed 900 reviews with only 141 rooms. That ratio is the strongest signal in this entire ranking, because it means people come back and they talk. Every room has a private balcony and a jacuzzi, nearly all of them face the ocean, and one category comes with a pool of its own. Guest chef Nicolás Cano runs Agua Madre, with house-made salsas and a tequila list worth staying in for. It's a twenty-minute drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport. It's adults-only and deliberately small, so if you want twenty restaurants and a show every night, look somewhere else — that's the entire point of this one.
